At The Goat and Compass

The first part of this post is for Elizabeth, who loves boats and anchors and animals.

And the name of this bar reminds me of Elizabeth's fictional public house, The Goat and Compass.

Sloan and Jenny like to work out their conflicts by drawing comics. This first comic was just for fun, though, not for conflict resolution.

Ross and I drove out of the city on Sunday. It seems many towns have chunks of giant tree trunks on display.

We drove through the "real" Twin Peaks! Snoqualmie and North Bend.

A family offered to take a photo of us, if we'd take one of them.

Then we took our own.

The Lady or the Tiger

Finally, they opened the doors of the mysterious Georgetown art spaces and let us look around.

The few streets of Georgetown were full of performers and strange carnival-type activities, food, and displays.

Creepy moving arms!

Petting zoo!

I think this is the most organized auto parts storage I've ever seen, if it's even an auto parts storage room.

These onion dome, punching ball, jellyfish things slowly, slowly inflate and deflate. They are in a constant state of motion. They're weather balloons.

And these hammers hammer on little plates or springs in turn. The point of contact is miked, for a lovely tinking, scraping symphony. I didn't take any photos of my favorite artist's work (favorite of the day, that is), but maybe it's okay. I guess I was too engrossed in looking, and I can't even remember her name. She made a blanket of orange life preservers, and stitched tools or jugs into army blankets.

We went back to TaraShea's apartment. How very convenient.

The Widest Light

There is a big crop of Calla Lillies growing outside our kitchen window.

Thanks for the housewarming egg cups, Brigid.

Last weekend was the Freemont Fair and solstice parade. Myles, Ross and I rode over for the parade.

There were lots of painted naked people--many of them on bikes. And some unpainted naked people, too.

Classy.
