The Longer Length of a Southwestern Day

We rented a car and drove south to Albuquerque to see Ross' dad.

He lives near the Rio Grande.

It was not as warm there as we had hoped it would be.

One of the neighbors has a tractor display in his yard.

There must have been around twenty of these old tractors.

As we walked, the dozens of neighborhood dogs greeted us in constant chorus.

This horse was really friendly, but the sound of my camera focusing scared him(her?).

Father and son in matching shirts...Ross' was a little too big for him.

Onnie came over and made a Thai/Chinese feast for us, but she somehow escaped my camera.

Dan and I assembled dumplings.

His were a little nicer looking than mine.

Jeb is a real indoor dog these days.

Green curry with baby eggplant and Pad Thai. Mmm-mmm.

After a couple of days of eating, Ross and I woke up early and drove north.

Back to snowy Denver. They got another storm while we were gone.

We only got lost on the winding streets of a subdivision once on our walk back from the car rental place to my parents' house.

The Rio Grande doesn't look so grande fro the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge in Taos, but the view is gorgeous & spare. If you walk halfway out, you can feel the bridge shake under your feet. It's harrowing, & remarkable.
