On the Other Coast They Float

The time finally came for my trip to New York.


Once the plane took off, I thought about how, sometimes, living in Seattle, it feels like you are slipping downhill, falling off the edge of the continent into the ocean.



What a relief to get above the clouds.








Andres was the winning poet.
Bonnie is the woman from Poets and Writers who handles the WEX contest. She toted Andres and I around the city. We had a little break to peruse the outdoor reading room at Bryant Park.

Andres and I stayed at the Library Hotel, which was near the NY Public Library. One night there was something stirring at the library, but we never found out what, or who, it was. There were a lot of men with briefcases and slick hair.
