In February, around the time Esme Cecilia Schuman-Dixon was born, I started sewing a sock monkey for her.
It was ready for the Meet a Baby gathering at David and Kim's house last week.
Here she is!
So David and Kim aren't sleeping much these days.
And they have developed a habit of strange facial expressions.
We all got a chance to hold the little tyke.
But she had to take a few naps while we were there.
Elizabeth and I drove everyone completely crazy battling for photo ops. (But all mine turned out blurry. I promise to learn to use the flash...)
Ellery is a little jealous of the new family member. I think he enjoyed having so many people over to his house because it meant more attention for him.
David baked delicious ziti.
Mat and Anton got in some practice for cutting their wedding cake next summer.
Anton and I are pretty darned good at drinking wine together.
Melanie was in town, too. She's off to a PhD program in the fall.
David and Kim believe in setting the swing on the fastest level. Otherwise, what's the point? Or something like that. Anyway, Esme seemed to like it.
She was completely transfixed by the fish mobile.
Kim told us the harrowing tale of Esme's birth. Yikes.
She's a real clothes horse already.
Kim gave us all a lesson in swaddling.
And the monkey found its home in Esme's crib. Congratulations David and Kim!
